Apocalypse Now

There's a lot for the media to cover right now, but we really must not ignore the horrific heat wave in India and Pakistan. It isn't even late spring, and temperatures are 50 C, that's about 122 F. The heat is destroying crops and has created a critical shortage of electricity. And, obviously, it's killing people although we aren't getting any data on that. Some places have been observed by satellite to have temperatures as high as 60C, which is incompatible with human life. And it's just going to get hotter.

Closer to home, the Colorado River reservoirs are disappearing. This also means massive loss of agricultural production. There doesn't seem to be any hope for the continued existence of many communities. And wave after wave of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in the Midwest and Southern U.S. are barely even news any more, nor are the wildfires

But, as Trump cultists know, it's all a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.

I truly wish science had not been corrupted for political gain in the past so that we could believe them more today.

I just don't have the words ... declines of empires seem inevitable, despite the availability of the most up-to-date, crucial information ...

I'm not sure, but I think if all social media engines were immediately discontinued, we'd be a lot better off. Oh yeah, and if Fucks Propaganda Network were destroyed.

Well yes SD, this has happened, but I don't think it's the reason some people don't believe climate science. Science was corrupted by tobacco companies and lead companies and sugar companies, and by racism in the 19th and early 20th Centuries, and in other ways. But that is much more likely to be understood and accepted by people who do accept climate science, than by people who don't.

Of course it is! They like science now.
