There is a word for rule by idiots, idiocracy. And yeah, we have that. There is also a word for rule by thieves, kleptocracy, and we have that too. Maybe we aren't quite at autocracy but we're headed there. However, I don't think there is a word for rule by the insane. What would it be? Lunatocracy doesn't quite work because it's lunatic, not lunatoc. Wackocracy? Nutocracy? Batshitocracy?
You may have missed the Medbed posting, maybe somebody can find it on the Wayback, but Dump posted it himself -- it was an AI generated fake of him claiming that soon, people will receive special cards that give them access to a miracle cure technology that "they" don't want you to know about. Completely bonkers, and therefore the corporate media don't even bother to tell you that this happened. He apparently actually believes that the entirely peaceful city of Portland, Oregon is a war zone, but the reporter he told this to didn't bother to report it herself. He gave a completely insane speech to the nation's military leaders and this is how the New York Times described it:
Mr. Trump praised his own tariff and border policies and insulted former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. Discussing his efforts to send troops to American cities, he said: “We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.”
Here's another description of the speech that I think does it even greater justice. As the diarist says, "Both CNN and MSNBC cut away and are either ignoring this shitstorm of dementia or sane-washing it"
What we have here is a baseline personality disorder so severe that it distorts his perception of reality, combined with not being very bright in the first place, now compounded by rapidly progressing dementia. That's what's happening. The technical term for it is that he is fucking nuts. But the corporate media will not say so. I do not understand why not.
I suppose that, here in the USA, we've arrived at such a spiritually bankrupt moment that most people simply don't want to stick their necks out. People are afraid of losing their lives or their jobs, or of appearing to be different. Look what happened to Epstein ... the fix is always in. I can't wait for those fucking "files" to come out, if they haven't already been destroyed. As JFK said, This country can't afford to be materially rich and spiritually poor. Well, we're there -- except only a few are materially rich, and almost all are spiritually bereft. Lots of religion, of course ... but not much spirituality.
ReplyDeleteI will explain to you, Cervantes, why the corporate media will not say that Shitler is fucking nuts, which he is and always has been.
ReplyDeleteThis country relies upon racism and violence for its identity. Without the original genocide (and subsequent relegation to reservations) of native Americans, and the importation of Africans for slavery--14 million of whom died in transit, before they ever set foot on our damned shores--to produce the country''s goods, we have no "culture." This country fears ego death if it lets go of its death grip on racism. The entire country is based on use and abuse of the Black man, woman and child. Take that away, and tens of millions of people in this country won't know "who they are" because their identities are based on abuse of The Other. They feel "superior" ... and EVERYONE would be happier and better off if we purged the cancer of racism. People would be able to live together--and with themselves. The collective guilt is always under the surface (and, hence, the denial of the Kirks and Shitlers and Millers and Wallaces and Thurmonds and ...).
Combine that with the rampant, soulless capitalism that has driven this country from its inception, and it explains why America has No Soul, except for that of the oppressed, who have created our greatest art, Jazz.
Individuals fight like hell to retain their identity if they feel it's the only "identity" they have--even if that identity is a destructive one, such alcoholic, rapist, abuser of women, rapacious capitalist, or pedophile. (Or, like Shitler, all of the above.) They fear ego death if their abusive core is threatened.
Back to the "corporate" media: That one word says it all. $, devoid of soul,, empathy, compassion, community. The corporate media is not here to educate or inform. They're part of the daily agenda-setting [even NPR can't get through the day without its talking heads giving numerous updates on the "Dow" and "Nasdaq" (etc.), things they know nothing about]. Corporate and mainstream media are staffed with paid voice actors who comply with "the agenda": "The business of America is business." Look at the word: busyness. That's all. It's not about collaborative efforts to make the Pledge of Allegiance come true ... it's about "them's that's got" dictating to "them's that don't got."
For the record, Lawrence O'Donnell talked at length last night (Tuesday, Sep 30, 2025) about the insanity and incoherence of Shitler. Mark Kelly was civil, but referenced the "incoherent" nature of the piece-of-shit-in-chief. He did not, however, use the words "demetia" or "insanity" but O'Donnell made it clear that those words are salient and apply to the madman who is the president of the United States.
To sum up: For the corporate and/or mainstream media to acknowledge the truth that Donald Shitler is a madman, has dementia, is a rapist and is--and always have been--insane would be a threat to their collective identity and ego. It would be admitting that our country is in utter denial of its genocidal and racist roots ... which would require collective ego obliteration and a complete overhaul of our very identity. If we're not racism, greed, violence and repression--then who the hell are we? Such a thought is terrifying to anyone who's not thinking critically.
