Major reasons include lack of universal access, unequal treatment, and underinvestment in public health and social welfare. We will critically examine the economics, politics and sociology of health and illness in the U.S. and the world.

I'm not sure how punishing a bunch of rubes is going to help when many of their leaders were FBI informants. Shit like this is why they won't vaccinate, among other bizarre and self-defeating behaviors: they are radically alienated from traditional sources of social authority. Why? Because those authorities have consistently failed them and are now punishing them for the failures.
