. . . but Josh Marshall sees it clearly. The reason the national security clown car communicated about the attack on the Houthis using Signal is precisely because they did not want to use a secure communication facility of the federal government. Official communications are archived. Even if they are classified, which means you and I can't see them, authorized government officials can, and that includes the succeeding administration, and usually the leaders of the relevant congressional committees. Furthermore they may be declassified at some future time. Signal communications are deleted after 48 hours.
That's why it was in fact, objectively illegal for them to conduct business in this way. But that's why they did it. And, obviously, this wasn't the first and only time. It has to be routine. Which also means we have no idea of the level and amount of corruption and malfeasance that's going on, because the administration is operating outside of official channels. That's just fine with the Republicans in congress, while the Democrats remain utterly feckless, for reasons I cannot comprehend.

While the red herring of the (solely) gaffe is acknowledged on YouTube and other sites by individuals, it does seem that (as usual) the MSM is blissfully ignorant of the true implications here. However, I'm sure that's not the case 100% of the time, and that the song-and-dance between the MSM and the ruling governmental authorities (and I use that term loosely!) is intentional, at least on a semi-conscious level. But it is true that critical thinking skills are probably at an all-time low in the US, given the fact that the most deplorable traitor ever to operate here has been elected president. Showbiz's "razzle dazzle" is translated into "bamboozle" in politics. Fox should NEVER have been allowed to worm its insidious, deactivating way into people's brains. See two sites:

Brings to mind Conan Doyle's novel "The Adventure of Silver Blaze" in which "the dog that didn't bark" makes it clear that the crime was an inside job. Here none of the participants ever commented on the fact that the conversation was being held on an unapproved app when it should have bothered all of them. Here no dog in the entire pack barked. Hmm?...
