To me, and everybody who I consider to be in contact with reality, the nature of Donald J. Trump is completely obvious. He is morally depraved and functionally deranged. There are specific labels in the DSM-5 (the manual of psychiatric diagnoses) for his pathologies, of which I am usually skeptical but of which he is absolutely paradigmatic. These are malignant narcissism and sadistic psychopathy.
In other words, the only person in the universe is himself. He has an insatiable, bottomless need for adoration and obeisance. The interests and feelings of others mean absolutely nothing to him except insofar as he revels in causing them harm and pain. Every event in the world is evaluated solely based on how it affects him. He is totally lacking in conscience or empathy. These personality disorders are so severe that they have psychotic features. He does not distinguish truth from falsehood, rather he continuously and relentlessly lies and says whatever conforms to his childish fantasies and desires. Also, he is fairly stupid and astonishingly ignorant, and profoundly bigoted.
He is a career criminal. When he was a young man, his father gifted him millions of dollars, which he squandered. How it is possible to go bankrupt running a gambling casino I do not know, but he succeeded at that, at least. Whereupon his father bailed him out by an illegal maneuver to evade gift taxes. He has committed numerous frauds for which he has been successfully sued, but for unfathomable reasons he has not been criminally prosecuted for what are manifestly crimes. For the past couple of decades, his main business has been laundering money for Russian gangsters, which at least partly explains his craven affection for the fascist war criminal Vladimir Putin. He is also physically repulsive, wears clownish makeup, has a harsh grating voice, and he is crude and vulgar and violent in his speech. He completely despises people who aren't wealthy, and that goes for the people who come to his rallies and give him money most of all, who as far as he's concerned are nothing but suckers.
This is obvious to all of us, but what we cannot understand is how this malignant, revolting clown has the besotted adulation of millions of people. Yeah, he gives them permission to say the racist and otherwise disgusting stuff they've always wanted to say, but there are plenty of less repulsive and ridiculous politicians who are willing to do that. But they're having none of it. Sadly, I cannot help but conclude that there is some pathology in people who identify with him. But I can't explain it.

Since the agricultural revolution some 8,000 years ago, societies have become too big to govern democratically, and child abuse is rampant. I'm reading Bessel van der Kolk's "The Body Keeps the Score," and child sexual/physical/emotional/mental abuse is , and is more common than not. People don't generally mature in a healthy way now, and are stunted and traumatized. Far from men going off to fight wars (which are all insane) and becoming traumatized, many were already traumatized prior to their war experiences by fathers who beat them, etc.
Most people nowadays are unsure of what the hell they're doing here on Earth. They're just waiting for directions on where to go and what to do.
It doesn't matter if those directions come from Jesus or Hitler.
People are most sheeple now, and they follow.
Even to their deaths.
And yes, Shitler gives them permission to voice their racist resentments and verbal trash.
PS: "The answer" is to halt the pandemic of child abuse, and to raise children to be healthy, critically thinking works of art, each one aware of their unique gifts, thoughts and feelings.
Education (how to think, not WHAT to think -- it's an indication of what deep doo-doo we're in here in the U.S. that people in Florida vote for DeSadist) is the answer.
PPS: Remember, Shitler is the guy who flies into a rage when someone reminds him of the bowl of pasta being dumped on his head as a kid ...
He is a profoundly sick individual, and so many people are mentally/emotionally ill ... so many in America find it easier to focus their hatred outward, as he does, through racism (the belief that there are "races," instead of the completely interchangeable Homo sapiens, and that "theirs" is "superior").
That is the tie that binds them: Mental/emotional sickness and racism. That's all they've got.
PPPS: I'm loving the pictures of Shitler in NYC ... the only reason he even showed up (instead of immediately running off to his bitchmaster in Moscow) is because in his pea-sized narcissistic mind, he believes he's innocent of ANY crime by definition.
After all, he can shoot someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue in NYC and get away with it. "People like him" (Caucasian, ostensibly wealthy -- even if he is an abject financial failure who, after considering his bankruptcies and debts, has fewer assets than the shitkickers who vote for him, for whom he has nothing but contempt) simply don't HAVE -- or experience -- negative consequences.
Nothing he experiences will ever convince him otherwise. He is dysfunctionally blind, deaf and dumb to what most people would call "reality."
The shock on his face in today's (April 4) photos in NYC is clearly palpable because he just can't believe he's being arrested. This shock will continue as he's found guilty and prosecuted for other crimes. He'll never be able to believe ANY negative consequence that occurs for him is actually taking place; it's not in his mindset or belief system. He won't even be able to believe it, even when he sees the Secret Service agents incarcerated along with him. (Talk about poetic justice. Hope they pick the ones who deserve it most.)
