As the United States continues to see increases in coronavirus cases, even in locations with stricter health policies like California, New York, the one-time epicenter of the pandemic, appears to have battled back the virus and kept it at bay since the spring.Follow the rules. Wear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands after you have been in public places. Outdoors is safer. These things we know.
New York City, where the vast majority of the state's cases and deaths have taken place, saw its seven-day average of new daily cases hit its peak with April 15 with an average of 5,426, while the state's average was around 9,000, according to data from the state's health department. On July 15, that seven-day average was down to 317 in the city and 725 statewide, according to the state's health department.
By comparison, Florida's seven-day average for newly recorded cases went from 1,008 on April 15 to 11,147 over the same three-month period, according to Florida's Health Department.

I have been wearing a mask (2 layers of cotton with a non-woven interfacing) since I was forced to return to the office on June 2. I did have my window open initially, but was told I had to close it last week.
We currently have a face covering order for our county. One of my coworkers came in on Monday with a "mask" made from the mesh of a trucker's hat. When I brought that to the attention of my supervisor, he bounced it to Human Resources, which replied "just stay away from him." What's to keep him from coming near me?
I don't understand: if they feel this is an essential industry, why don't they do more to protect their employees? People are putting masks under their chins, taking them off to talk on the phone, using knit gaiters instead of woven materials....
