I confess that my thinking about the whole Epstein thing has evolved, pretty much along the same lines as Betty Cracker's. I'll mostly just outsource the discussion, but there is something in there that the Great Pumpkin very much does not want you to know, and he sure as hell is doing an excellent imitation of a guilty man.
The problem remains that Christopher Wray and Merrick Garland, along with quite a few FBI agents and DoJ attorneys, also know the information, and knew it while Joe Biden was president. Now, if none of it is prosecutable, then institutionalist Merrick Garland would indeed have sat on it out of principle. But a lot of people know it who, given the current state of the union, would be motivated to leak it, and so far that hasn't happened. So that is a puzzle. Feel free to speculate.

Again, Shitler is not god. He is an utterly fallible and despicable human, just one more motherfucker out there, and his fall will be swift and spectacular.
Perhaps there was a gentleman's agreement among members of both houses not to go TOO deeply into your opponent's personal flaws; especially not ones that would permanently destroy their reputations. Biden, the quintessential senator, may have just been following custom. Sort of like the police, and doctors, protect their own. Of course, it's wrong to ignore gross malfeasance or incompetency, and Trump, after benefiting from it, chose to use Biden's leniency against him.
But that's just a supposition.
I had meant to comment before this late date. We live in a society rife with projection, and people who are unwilling or unable to take responsibility for their own actions are constantly projecting their own shit onto other people.
It seems to me that there is probably a treasure trove of horror within all of the so-called Epstein files, enough to implicate numerous well-known personages, be they Republican, Democratic or neither. No wonder there are crazy far-right conspiracies about Democrats abusing children, when it is in fact something that's already been going on at the highest levels of society and perpetrated, no doubt, by plenty of Republican people.
It seems absolutely clear and indisputable at this point that Donald Trump has sexually abused and/or raped numerous girls and women, so I assume that Joe Biden didn't bring him tumbling down and into prison--because perhaps many of Biden's own friends or associates would've been implicated as well. Trump is at his core a rapist, above all else. At this point, there are around 1,000 Epstein victims, so there must be many hundreds of abusers. Our entire federal government is resting precariously on a rotten conspiracy of sex trafficking and abuse (in addition to the requisite financial and war crimes). Think about the people involved: Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Alan Dershowitz, Prince Andrew ... this is the tip of the iceberg of a list of rapacious, disgusting men who have entertained their twisted psyches by engaging in forcible sex, many times with underage minors.
What power structure wants to cop to that?
If "the people" don't wake up, rise up and demand accountability, we'll continue to be governed by unrecovered, self-and-other-hating creeps and religious freaks, such as Thomas, Kavanaugh, Shitler, Hegseth and the like.
Most folks, however, seem more interested in sensationalism, alcohol, preventing body odor, professional sports, cigarettes, lottery tickets, erectile dysfunction (men) and wearing as little as possible and accentuating what's covered (women) than they do in civil rights, health care, education or, above all, honesty. We are, by and large, an incredibly traumatized and sick country. The only thing that seems to spur people to action is not having enough money to pay their bills and feed themselves.
By and large, we are a sick, selfish and ignorant nation. If we weren't so rotten at our core, we wouldn't elect rotten people.
